Back to Ultra Training and some Best Wishes

Training for the Tralee 100k began in earnest last Tuesday, and it was great to get back to the nice slow pace of ultra training with my Born To Run clubmates. The unseasonably warm weather here at the moment is good preparation for the trials of July and August too!

Yesterday I couldn’t make the 7 mile training run with Born To Run, so I went out on my own and decided to tackle a few big hills – I’m very pleased with how it went, and I’m determined to include as much hill work as possible in my running this year. I’ll be doing a 13 mile training run with Born To Run this weekend, before taking it a little easier next week, as I have the Listowel Marathon on the 18th – still haven’t decided whether to treat that as a long slow run, or go balls out and try for a PB – will probably decide on the day!

Best wishes and good luck to my friends and teammates running the Paris Marathon this weekend: Brian, Conor, Fiona, Joanne, Sinead, Laura, Maeve, and Kathleen – show ’em how it’s done guys!

Best of luck also to Thomas Bubendorfer, John O’Reagan, Susan McCartney, Eddie Gallen, Eoin Keith and Ruthann Sheehan in the 24 Hour World Championships in Turin.
