Tralee Marathon Needs You!

Two of my hometown races – the Tralee International Marathon and the Tralee 100k – are up for awards in the 2015 Running in Ireland Awards.

The Tralee International Marathon is nominated for Marathon of the Year, and the Tralee 100k is nominated for Ultramarathon of the Year.

You can vote for them here. I have done both these events on every occasion they have been run, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Best of luck to Marcus and his team in the awards.

We made the final 12 for the prestigious awards, which will be held in London on April 22nd. There were over 2,000 nominees in all categories, and these have been narrowed down to 12 in each category.

RandRuns is the only blog in the world to make the finals of both the 2016 Running Awards and the 2016 RunUltra Blogger awards.

Joining the Greats with RunUltra!

I’m delighted to announce that RandRuns has been selected as a finalist in the 2016 RunUltra Best Blogger Award.

We were selected from well over 100 bloggers in 15 countries, and now join some of my running heroes, including Kilian Jornet, Dean Karnazes, Christopher McDougall and Scott Jurek in the final. I’m really thrilled to be in this exalted company (especially since I’ll never get anywhere near any of them on race day!).

Please vote for Randall’s Running Blog here to help me go all the way!

Running Awards

Last night I attended the Run The Kingdom awards night in the Fels Point hotel in Tralee. Awards were presented to the top 10 runners in the male and female categories of the 2015 RigBag Run The Kingdom Championships, and other awards included the Hall of Fame Award, which was presented to the great John Griffin (two-time winner of the Dublin Marathon), the Kerry’s Eye Running Achievement Awards, which went to Shona Heaslip and Thomas Bubendorfer, the Running in Kerry award to Chris Gayson, and an award to Stephanie Nix who was the youngest finisher in the 2015 Tralee International Marathon. The Born to Run trainers also received an award.

Congratulations and well done to all the winners!
